The cache is located on the peak of Abdol's Kop, Greyton, South Africa at an altitude of 871 meters.
Abdol’s Kop is situated in the Sonderend mountain range near the village of Greyton, Western Cape, South Africa. Abdol was the paid carpenter that built the St Andrew’s Church in the village in 1898. Voluntary workers that collected the stone from the nearby hills for the church assisted Abdol. The stones were then drawn by ox-wagon to the building site. As Abdol was paid for the time he worked he was always concerned about rain that would stop operations. So frequently did he look toward the peak to see whether rain clouds were gathering that his workmates named the peak Abdol’s Kop. Greytonians still use the peak to forecast rain, as it is more accurate than official weather forecasts.
