Cache-Fishing Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

STP Ron: I asked the ranger about the fences. He said the Water District put them up because of problems with bank erosion that were too expensive to fix, so they closed the bank instead. It's permanent, so I'm going to archive the cache.

Geocache Description:

Taped plastic container near a fishing spot at Los Gatos Creek County Park

The north pond at Los Gatos Creek County Park can have good fishing. In the colder months, the DFG stocks the lake with trout. You can also catch bass and catfish in the warmer months. This cache is close to the entrance of the park on Dell Avenue. You can park along Dell Avenue for free. It costs $6 to park inside the park. The cache is close to the trail around the pond. You can reach it by taking just a few steps off the trail, and you don't need to climb any fences. There may be muggles fishing here or walking around the pond. Be wary when retrieving and replacing the cache.

Let me know if you see a lot of trout on stringers. I'll rush out here with my fishing pole. Here's the trout planting schedule: (visit link)

6/23/07 Update: I couldn't find the cache, so I replaced it with a new one, close enough so that I could keep the same coordinates, but not in the same location. It's a little smaller and a different shape than the original, which was a decon. No pencil, bring your own. Initial contents are a couple of railroad pins, a dinosaur, and a braided bracelet and earrings that were salvaged from the damaged GC Rules cache.

6/17/08 Update: the cache appears to have been muggled. The location is compromised, so I replaced the cache with a smaller one a short distance away. It's a sign-only cache. Bring your own pen.

8/17/08 Update: same cache, but hid in a manner that fits in with the title. Replace it the way you found it. Make sure it's not visible.

11/29/09 Update: The cache site was discombobulated by groundskeeping. I didn't know if it was still there, so I added a backup cache.

9/15/10 There's only 1 cache there now. I updated the description.

12/29/10 Cache was muggled. I replaced it with a metal pill container, hidden higher up. Make sure it stays hidden.

1/14/12 I replaced the cache with a plastic micro container in a previous location. Bring a pen.
