Geocache Description:

Camo'd container near the Coyote Creek Trail by a scenic fishing pond

This is the second of 3 caches I placed on the Coyote Creek Trail today. There are lots of fishing ponds along the Coyote Creek Trail. This is one of my favorites, not so much for its fishing productivity, but for its scenic beauty. The trail runs along 3 sides of this pond. There are makeshift trails leading down to the pond and around it. There are marshes on the north side of the pond. Coyote Creek crosses under the trail just north of the pond. Fishermen can be seen fishing the pond from the banks or from float tubes. I've seen large fish, probably carp, in the shallows. On the west side of the trail is a farm and nursery. This cache is located between the trail and the farm, about 24 feet from the trail. The container used to be an M&M's tube, but I upgraded it to a larger container, on the big side of small. The trail can be busy, so watch out for muggles. Pretend you're looking at the farm. Watch out for the big dog at the nursery to the south. Just south of the nursery is a secret entrance to the trail that leads to a small parking spot on Monterey Highway. If the Coyote Creek Trail is flooded north and south of here, you can still get in and reach this cache via the secret entrance, see: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=785ab822-8011-4fed-9882-53dc86d63cff The cache is high above the water level, so it's not likely to get flooded. If it is, the whole valley is in big trouble. For more on the Coyote Creek Trail, see: http://www.rhorii.com/bayareaparks/CoyoteCreekTrail/CoyoteCreekTrail.html Update 3/12/08: This used to be a camo'd M&M's tube. After pulling out a larger cache from a similar location, I thought I'd relocate it here. It has swag from its previous life. You might even recognize it. Update 10/7/08: Sadly, it looks like the larger cache has been muggled. It's been replaced with a micro to reduce its muggability factor. Hopefully this will survive longer. If you happen to find the original, good for you. You can log either cache. Update 10/21/08: Never mind. It looks like the small cache is back.
