Geocache Description:

An impressive collection of well-maintained Whatcom-area log cabins are the focal point of this Ferndale City Park.

There are 14 cabins in the Pioneer Park collection, which is listed on the Washington State Historic Register. The structures contain period furnishings depicting a church, a granary, museums, a post office, a print shop, a one-room school house, a jail, a bank, a barn, homes and a stage coach inn.

The park is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with tours available by arrangement. The cache is located just outside the park boundary fence, and is accessible day or night.

The cache is located along the back perimeter fence surrounding the park. The main entrance to the park is on the north side of the property, and the gates are open for public access from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gate next to the cache is only opened for emergency vehicle access!
