Welcome to my first cache, a multi hidden in the west side of the Wiregrass Prairie Preserve.
Hi! My name is Maggie, AKA Mogwai913, and this is my very first cache. I'm a college student, currently enrolled at University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky, on a wrestling scholarship. My majors include chemistry & biology, and my minor is French.
My family, Clan Riffster, got me a yellow Garmin Etrex for Christmas and I just had to try it out by placing a cache. I hope you like it! Recommended parking for this multi is N28* 55.565, W081* 04.246, directly across Boy Scout Rd from Clan Riffster's "What's in a Name?" cache.
You'll be seeking 3 micros a bit larger than a match container, and a 50 calibre ammo can. The posted coordinates are for the first micro. In this micro, you'll find the coordinates for the 2nd micro, and so on.
Total distance is about 1.5 miles, round trip, including a bit of doubling back, and the hike out. The micros are located fairly close to the trails, which are mostly high & dry. The terrain/difficulty generator called this a 3/3, but it seems more like a 2/2. You be the judge.
ATV's are strictly forbidden in the park, however, tire marks indicate that some locals ignore this rule. If you hear the annoying buzz of an ATV headed your way, please get off the trail. Anyone dim witted enough to ride back here probably won't care too much who they run over.
This area can be reached via Pell Rd, off of Maytown Rd, east of Osteen. Technically speaking, Boy Scout Rd, off of 415, is a route to the area, but the roadway is typically in such poor condition that this route should be avoided like the plague.
FTF prize is a pre-loaded, pre-camo'ed decon kit so you can keep the game going. Other contents include 5 assorted colors of Play-Doh, 2 mini cars, 2 tape measures, a glow stick necklace, assorted small rubber stretchy critters, a colorful crazy pen, a carabiner key chain, a cheap compass, a big stretchy frog, a doorknob messenger thingy, a B'Loonies kit, a mini screw driver kit and two packs of stickers.
Enjoy this trip through the Florida wilderness. Let me know what you think.
Good luck!
