Geocache Description:

This cache was placed by SLAGA to honor BruceS on his 5000th cache find.
Congratulations, Bruce!

Bruce invited us along as he headed out just after 8AM to hit another milestone of 5000. Several tagged along for the entire way for Daryl and Daryl (GCAB23) while others met him at waypoints along the way and at the final. Back at the shelter, work was under way for the celebration at noon with hotdogs, snacks, hot cider and chocolate, and soda.


We were eating at noon whether Bruce was there or not!



As it was, he made it back in plenty of time. Weather was nice for the walk and the heated shelter donated by W. Tyson County Park provided a nice meeting place. Island Dave came up with the idea of the large banner and it was constructed on site and everyone present signed it. Bruce has it hanging on the front of his house, or so he says! This cache is located in West Tyson Park, where Bruce logged his 5000th find and joined in the celebration afterwards.

Park hours are 8:00 AM to sunset, and will require an approximate two mile round trip hike to complete.
