Geocache Description:

A quick find in a small park in Somerset West. The cache is a 250 ML lock & lock camoed container that contains a few Canadian items.

I have visited South Africa on four occations since 2000 and I absolutely love it here. This cache was created by myself and a few members of Edmonton's geocaching community as a tribute to our South African geocaching friends... When placed, it included many Canadian items: from clothing to hockey cards, it includes a small Stanley Cup, there's even a CD soundtrack from "Hockey Night in Canada" (it doesn't get more Canadian than that!). There are Canadian flags, a 2006 Canadian wildlife calendar, keychains and several Canadian TBs....

Stealth will be required in this park but don't worry if you see someone at the nearby house - a couple of Canadians live there as well and they have agreed to maintain the cache while I am gone. Please rehide the cache well as homeless people sometimes frequent this park at night and we want this cache to remain for a long long time....

I have fallen in love with the beauty of the land and the people of South Africa.. My first geocaching buddy, Thulani lives here. We started geocaching together in Canada in April of 2005 and haven't stopped since. Thulani was always way better at hunting out the caches. He is a great friend...

This cache disappeared in 2006 but I replaced it with a smaller cache in Jan 2007. There is an unactivated geocoin as a gift to the first to find this newly hidden cache. I also hid a new cache in the Heldeberg reserve that includes many of the Canadian items that were once found in this cache. If the dogs come out they are quite harmless - their names are Zonnie and Nicki
