Small to medium sized cammoed lock-n-lock container hidden in the Clear Creek SWMA at Lake McConaughy.
I was thrilled to find a wildlife area to the west of the lake. It was kind of an eerie but short walk to the cache site. If the wind is blowing (when is in not?) the nakey trees will talk to you as you near the cache site. Made coward girl look over her shoulder more than once!
The coordinates were very jumpy here probably due to those nakey trees. I took several averaged readings. If you get different coords, please post them as a help to others. Cache is hidden completely concealed from view. So it will last, I ask that you hide it back the same way or better.
Having spent only a few years in Nebraska, I had never been to this area until today. Although I came to place two caches for page 45 of the DeLorme Challenge, I stayed for many hours. There is so much nature here to take in. As I learned while placing the caches there are miles and miles of wooded areas and beaches. Nearby is Ash Hollow Historical Park and Windlass Hill hiking area. So much to see and do if you are a nature person. Being wintertime and the low water levels, I had the entire area to myself. There area many wonderful places for caches out here. Bring your ammo cans!
