A Grand Slam Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kosh Naranek: As this cache has been in need of maintenance for a period well in excess of the "few weeks" contemplated by the guidelines, and there's been no further action on repairing this cache, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache in the immediate future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it."

Geocache Description:

Baseball field where I hit my first grand slam.

In 2004 I started playing baseball at Singing Hills Little League, the only girl playing in the enitre division. The boys didn't like the idea of a girl on their team, but I was the only one who could throw from the fence to home plate in one throw.
On 21 May 2005 I was playing for the Reds team against the A's. My dad had driven in from New Mexico for the weekend, and was scoring the game on behalf of Pioneer who was away with work.
Top of the ninth innings, 2 outs, bases loaded. I was the DH, and stepped up to the plate. The first pitch whizzed by me for strike. The second however was cracked.
The ball hurtled back past the pitcher's ear and over the outfielders, for my first ever Grand Slam.
We went on to win the game and I was awarded the game ball.

This is the same field that Major League Baseballer Brian Giles of the San Diego Padres played on as a minor.

1.29.09: The cache is now slightly larger and to return it to it's spot, it needs to be "wedged".
