The Damhead Car Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

dmnak: I drove past the plantation last night and was horrified to see that deforesting was taking place and a significant proportion of the plantation was gone. So, today the boots when on, and in the pouring rain i made my way to the cache site, or what used to be the cache site.

Lucky i wasn't to late to save the cache and contents. All the coins and log book are now safe. I'll move on the contents to local caches soon.

A sad loss this one...!!!

Aye,

Ken.

Geocache Description:

Hidden in a Wood, so GPSr coverage is poor. WAAS accuracy of 5mtrs was my reading, but it was varying. There is a good clue in the title.

The Cache is held in a flatish blue topped food container, its well hidden tho'.

For this cache you could link it up with the Langbank Lion/Jeep cache and make a good afternoon of it, and park in Langbank. Access can either be across the fields or a walk along the road from Langbank or park at Finlaystone and go from there. I'll let you choose to make it more interesting. If your going cross country and have dog/s please use a leash, there sheep and cattle present most of the year.

As noted above, the Cache is in a wood known as the Damhead Plantation, its well hidden and can be very difficult to get to if you take the wrong route. GPSr coverage will be patchy as the trees are thick. So, good luck.

Happy Hunting,

J33P KN.
