Geocache Description:

You're looking for an ammo box off a dirt trail.

From 1979 to 1981 there was a television series starring Gil Gerard and Erin Gray, called "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century". The main character, Buck Rogers, is an astronaut from the 20th century that was frozen in his space ship, lost, then found and thawed out 500 years later. The 12th episode, "Happy Birthday, Buck" found Buck on January 7th (I don't know the exact year, sorry), his 534th birthday, and he is remembering his old friends from when he was still in NASA. Erin Gray's character, Colonel Wilma Deering, decides to throw him a surprise birthday party, ... and if you remember anything about television from that era, he gets into some danger with a bad guy, beats up the bad guy and saves the girl in distress.

We were out at the Andrew Brown Community Park today, celebrating my wife's birthday (again, no year dates), which also happens to be on January the 7th. Recently I've been remembering all the friends I had in high school and college, and have also been appreciating the new friendships I've made here in the Dallas area (especially the geocachers that I've had the opportunity to meet and cache with this past year). This cache is in honor of not only my wife's birthday, but is also to celebrate geocaching goals and milestones that have been met and reached in the past year.

You are looking for an ammo box. When I placed this cache I put some birthday party trinkets for kids (of all ages) to trade. There is a FTF blue ribbon award also available to the first person to find it.

At the end of the episode Buck is reflecting back on the great friendships he had, and the new ones he now has. I've met people from all walks of life while playing this game called geocaching, and I feel privileged to call you all friends.

Cache on friends.
