Poole's Mill Park, easy short hike. Watch for those who may be watching you.
Nice area for a cache, small playground for kids, picnic area and a nice place to play in the water. My daughters loved to swim and hang out with friends in this area when they were teenagers, before the park was built.
From roadsidega.com
George Welch, a Cherokee Chief who lived in the area used nearby water power to drive a grist mill stone near the present day covered bridge.
Welch was removed in 1838 and forced on the trail of tears, then Jacob Scudder purchased the land. In 1880 the property was sold by Scudders heirs to Dr. M.L. Poole and his family continued to run the mill until 1947 when they abandoned it. The Mill burned in 1959. There has been extensive repair to the bridge and a recenty a small county park built here.
