To the south of Windhoek, a few hills are located. The highest of
these is called "Kleine Kuppe". On the west of Kleine Kuppe,
nearest to Cimbebasia, is another hill. It has no name, but as
Kudus are often seen there, we call it "Kudukuppe"
The cache is not very easily reached. There is no path up and at
some places, overgrowth is very tight. If you go with little
childen: beware: it is quite steep at the cache (but not really
very dangerous)
We placed into the cache the following:
Log book, pencil, geocache note ->
Please leave!
Voucher, cell phone holder, toy army car, noodle angle (it was
Christmas after all!), Lego figure, balloons, mouse pad
Small note on cache maintenance: Local geocacher
OuMensie will assist with any needed maintenance.
Well, the baboons were very interested in this cache. My mother
(OuMensie) and the rest of the family installed a new, (hopefully)
baboon-safe cache. It is now in a metal box, painted brown. The box
is hatched to a tree with a steel wire rope. The box is closed with
a key ring. (There is a spare key ring in the box. Please leave it
there, if it is not needed.) Furthermore, the box is protected by a
plastic snake. Please do not be afraid and please leave the snake
at its place. It is an old "boere raat" to put a plastic snake at a
place to keep baboons away.
