“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”

The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just over a year and a half, the quest has grown to over four hundred twenty caches hidden in over forty Indiana counties, and Ohio and Michigan and the hiders have grown to over twenty cacher teams, most of which of which are comprised of Dogs and their Humans. Over 900 cacher teams have logged over 10,700 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST #421

"DOES THIS JUNKYARD HAVE A DOG?"

DANIEL RENICKER, husband of Eve, died 10-31-1877 age 72-7-9; Came from Gettysburg, Pa. to Wabash Co. 1840; father of Marie, Sarah, Levi, Elizabeth, Daniel, Catharine, David.

Welcome to Renicker Cemetery (aka German Baptist) in LaGro Township, Wabash County. This is an old family burial grounds for early Wabash County residents who emigrated here in the 1840's, from York County, Pennsylvania.

Earliest burial here dates to 1850, with about 50 known burials, but from the size and layout of the place, I think many more are now unknown.

There are 11 Renickers laid to rest here.

Two known Civil War vets are buried here: Isaac Givens of Co. K, 101st Indiana Volunteers and the veteran whose photo is in the Gallery.

CRAMER, AMOS-- son of Christian & Catharine, 3-12-1832 9-17-1854, age 23-6-5 ,native of York Co., PA., immigrated to Indiana 1852
