Hello Nova Scotia Geocachers, once again we have been challenged
by the fine provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to
a cache placement weekend. The idea is to hide as many caches as
humanly possible from now until February the 3rd 2006. This event
was a huge success last year and all provinces were rewarded with
hundreds of new caches in a very short period of time.
Unfortunately last year New Brunswick won the event hands down. I
think this year we must put up a much stronger fight and hide more
caches, better caches and the most rewarding caches we can, always
remembering QUALITY first.
For this reason we are having a Breakfast Social the Sunday
prior to the Approval Weekend. The main intention of this social is
to meet and greet, have a great meal, exchange stories and tell
tales. After the event it will leave lots of time left in the day
for all of us to go out and place a cache. So bring your stories
and prepared cache containers and let’s get to know each other. Any
caches intended for this challenge may be hid at any time from now
the 3rd of February.
Please remember to add a reviewer’s note indicating that they
are for the challenge and are not to be released until 03/Feb/2006
@ 5:00pm. I encourage all cachers to hide their caches as early as
possible to give the approvers sufficient time to get them
prepared.
The following rules do apply to qualify
1) All caches Winter friendly
2) No micros for this contest
3) Caches to be posted from Fri. Feb 3 (5 PM) till Sun Feb 5 ( 5 PM
)
You could hide them anytime but add the approvers note to post them
for the weekend of 3/Feb/2006. This would give cachers lots of time
to hide good quality caches and the approver’s lots of time to
approve them.
(Yes they are aware of the event and are prepared for the
massive flood of caches).
Now to place lots of caches is one thing. More important point,
is to place High Quality Caches. Please take your time to
place long lasting quality caches in great locations for future
enjoyment. Better to hide 1 great cache than 10 “just OK”
caches.
