hello and welcome to the New And Improved 2006 Edition of the
nearly famous Flat Island 2 cache. (For more info on Flat Island
please visit the cache page for our other Fat Island cache) Just
like out first flat island cache after a few years and over 80 logs
this cache also had fallen into a state of almost unbearable
condition the cheap plastic container leaked and the logs where wet
most of the time and clear path was worn right to it making the
hunt not much of a challenge. So Rob and I decided to revamp the
cache to make it a better experience for all enjoy. We moved the
cache away from the old coordinates and gave the cache a new ammo
box to try to better combat the water problems as well as a new log
and some new goodies. The Cache is located off one of the trails
but make sure you bring your walking shoes because bikes and motor
vehicles are not allowed on trails the preserve is open daily from
8am-dusk. BE SURE YOU SIGN IN AT TRAIL HEAD KIOSK. Bug spray may
prove to be a big plus as the mosquitoes love to bite.
