Geocache Description:

Golden Corral, on the Eastside (130 Cross Pointe Blvd - behind the Drury Inn near I-164).

Time: 11:00 am (central time)
Date: 2/18/06 (Saturday)
Who: anyone who is interested in geocaching is welcome

Do you like to go caching? Do you like to eat? Do you like to just sit around and talk about caching? Then, come on out for a luncheon where we can sit around, talk about caching, and maybe even make plans to go find some caches after we're done!

I just want to be clear - ALL ARE INVITED! You do not need to live in or around Evansville to attend. You can have 0 finds or 5000 finds - you are still invited.

Back in November, many of the local cachers got together for the Indigo event (at the same restaurant). I think we all had a good time, and we discussed how nice it might be to have a local group. This event is an attempt at starting that group. In my mind, the group will be more of an informal social group, who can get together every month or two (or three - we'll talk about that), eat food, or drink coffee, or whatever, and chat. Talk about caching, talk about our pets, talk about whatever. Maybe some months we'll have formal event caches, maybe not - this event is hopefully the time when we can discuss how we want to start out.

And, while we were all interested and motivated back in November, then the holidays came. And the snow came. And we all retreated back into our homes, ventured out periodically to hide or find caches, but drifted away from the caching group/organization idea. Well, if you are still interested, why not come for lunch, and we can talk about what people WOULD like to do/have as a group, and what we would NOT like.

Or, maybe you don't really want to be in a geocaching group. Maybe you are just passing through the area that weekend, and want to grab some lunch and find out where the "good" caches in the area are - then stop by! All are invited, regardless of where you live and regardless of whether or not you think you'll try to join our group long-term.

There is no cost for joining the Evansville Caching organization (E.C.O. ?? for a name? other ideas?). If you are from outside of Evansville, we'd love to have you join as well - just keep in mind that most of our events and get-togethers will occur in the Evansville area. :)

If you think you are coming, or know that you'll be coming, please post below so that I can let Golden Corral have a rough estimate of how many tables we'll need.

Hope to see you there!
