Geocache Description:

Although this is just off the main road to Glasgow, nobody ever comes in here, although, once you are in the woods, it is an extraordinary place. There are old pheasant workings up at the top end of the wood, but otherwise, the only other human you are likely to see round the co-ordinates will be a fellow cacher.

Park on the B778. There are lay-bys, but the ones nearest the cache have rocks partially blocking them to discourage fly-tipping. If you park near the bend, make sure that you are off the road completely because the local Corsa Boys can come round there at a heck of a rate of knots.
Chose your own entry point into the woods. You will probably have to negotiate a narrow burn and you will get your feet wet. If you go through the field, it can also get very boggy in winter. Once inside, you are in a whole new mossy world. There are no paths, but the trees are not too thick and you can follow the arrow fairly easily.
If you come in from the east, look out for the solitary giant rhodedendron. A mass of colour, in spring, in this lonely place.
The cache is easy to find, so don't worry too much about the tree cover.
