Geocache Description:

Bug Spring Cache is about a one mile hike one way. The trail is very hard to follow so the easiest way is to go up the canyon via the wash.

The container is a black 3" PVC pipe about 12" long. It has a solid cap on one end and a screw in cap on the other end. Please do not over-tighten the lid so those of us with week hands can get it open.

You should park at the entrance to the George Hirabayashi campground. If you have been around Tucson for any time you probably know where the Prison Camp Road off of the Mt. Lemmon Highway is, that is the turn off for the campground. There is parking just as you enter. You must have a parking permit, purchase at toll booth on the way up the mountain.

Cross the Mt. Lemmon Highway and start up the side road there (Not the Mt. Lemmon Highway). Hike first to the Bug Spring water tank that is filled in with sand. (N 32 20.989 W 110 42.466)

I have included a picture of 102 Scoutmaster standing over the cache hiding place, Bug spring is in the wash in the background.

If you would like to see a 12' waterfall you can check it out at these coordinantes. (N 32 20.917 W 110 42.547)
