TB Rehab Halfway House Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Geofellas: Wish I had spotted A_LostArt's post last week. Just got a note from StephandJohn that the bulldozers had moved in. Went to investigate - found they are finally dealing with the dangerous curve near here by catching up to the rest of the civilised world and putting in a roundabout. Unfortunately that means this cache is toast. I was able to retrieve the log book and goodies that had evidently been emptied out of the nice Ammo box, which is, no doubt, now in the possession of one of the construction workers who is evidently about to take up geocaching!!

Geocache Description:

The idea for this cache came to us when we were looking at local area travel bugs and we realized that there were only about 25 bugs in caches in a 2,500 square km area centered on this cache. We thought perhaps we could help to increase bug availability by setting this cache.

So, if you have lots of TBs in your inventory that you just don't seem to be able to get into a cache somewhere, and if you have had some of those TBs for weeks or even months on end, we have a solution for you!

Here is a halfway house for those poor TBs that have been forgotten or held hostage in TB jails for so long finally to get back out into the wild so that they can be rehabilitated into becoming useful members of travel bug society. By doing this they will add to the enjoyment of geocaching for all members of the community, especially the children.

Please, if this resonates with you, find the cache (it is easy to find - pretty much a drive-up) and drop a whole bunch of TBs in it (there's lots of room) so that they can get back into the game again and others can enjoy them. Feel free to drop TBs without picking any up unless you can help to move them along quickly. By all means log an additional find if you like every time you drop more TBs in here than you pick up - but please get those TBs rehabilitated and back into circulation.

If there's a TB (or a few TBs) in here that you can help on their mission and if you are prepared to move them along rapidly you are also encouraged find this cache and grab as many as you are prepared to help travel further soon. As Groundspeak says, TBs are for living your life vicariously through their adventures - and keeping them travelling is the key. Remember the Travel Bug etiquette at this page: "Use the Golden Rule when you find a Travel Bug. Most owners would rather see their travel bugs do a lot of travelling, so try not to hold on to a travel bug for too long."

So let’s go hunting through our geocaching gear and release those incarcerated bugs!

Thanks for finding this cache and keeping the spirit alive...

You are looking for a large Ammo Box with lots of room for TBs.

Bugs and their owners thank you too!
