Geocache Description:

Come out and help the MiGO SE Chapter and me, stuff CITO containers. The time is from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.

The City of Madison Heights and The Nature Center at Friendship Woods have been very generous by donating the use of their meeting room at the Friendship Woods Nature Center. Some of you may remember this place as I placed an event cache inside for my "Geocachers Anonymous" event on May 21, 2005. If you have never been there you owe it to yourself to a visit. Not only is the nature center beautiful, the woods that surround the center are equally beautiful. They also have a gift shop with some very nice items.

Now the mission for this event. I have about 1000 stickers, 35mm film containers and plastic shopping bags that I want to put together as CITO containers. Well, I'm short on the 35mm containers and the plastic bags, but I'm working on getting enough. If I run short, I'll post a note here so check back or place a watch on this cache. I expect to have enough my the event's date.

Most of you have used these CITO containers while caching. For those of you that don't what a CITO container is, It's simply a 35mm film container with a plastic shopping bag stuffed inside and a sticker on the outside that describes what it is. These CITO containers are then placed in caches for future cachers to use the plastic shopping bag to pickup trash. Simple and yet so helpful for the areas that we cache in.

I don't expect all work and no fun, I demand it! Just kidding. We can swap stories while we work and I'm going to bake up a batch or two of cookies to munch on. You can bring a snack, but the nature center has one rule about food in the meeting room: You can't bring in anything that can spill or fall on the carpet causing a stain. MiGO has generously donated a hat and we will have a few other door prizes. We will draw names to determine the winners.

You are welcome to take a few CITO containers with you for placing into caches. The rest I will take home and bring them to other up coming events.

I have two geocaches in the nature center, Happy 50th Madison Heights and Mystic River. Another cache or two could popup in time for this event.

Update Feb 28: Son of Cyclops had a great idea for giving away the prizes. His idea is to put something special into a few of the 35mm film canisters. Anyone that finds one of these special items will be able to claim their choice from the prize table. Only one prize per person.
