This multi-stage cache has the final destination located up path that is a fairly steep gravel road, but only for a short distance. No need to climb slopes or leave the road, nor to go past the "Y". The cache is in a green ammo box.
The theme of this cache reveals another passion of mine; classic Hollywood movies. This cache might just get better with age, or at least qualify for the Mueseum of Science and Industry, since the VHS format of recording video is quickly becoming outdated, but feel free to leave DVD's. At the least, they can be fun to trade and collect in order to view comfortably at home after an exciting day of geocaching! Also, knowing your Pacific Northwest trees might help in your search...
For Stage 1, travel to the above coordinates. Locate the small communication structure. Find the unique ten-digit numerical identifier designating this structure. Derive the 2nd, and final, stage, using the following:
N (value of 4th digit appended to sum of values of 5th and 6th digits), degrees, (value of sum of 2nd & 10th digits), period, (value of 7th digit), (value of 8th digit minus 1), (5th digit).
W (23 added to total value of 7th digit appended to 8th digit), degrees, (value of 3rd digit), (total value of 9th digit subtracted from 6th digit), period, (value of sum of 4th digit and 5th digit), ( 3rd digit), (4th digit).
This cache initially contained:
"Our Gang Story" - collection of Little Rascal film shorts from the 1930's VHS.
"The Flying Deuces" - Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy film from 1939 VHS
(visit link) ).
"Liberty" - Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy film from 1999 VHS. An early "talkie" that also features James Finalyson, the originator of the Homer Simpson, "Doh!" (judge for yourself…) with Stan and Laurel teetering high above Broadway and Main atop a Los Angeles skyscraper. (visit link) )
"Utopia" - the last film of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy from 1950 VHS (visit link) ).
"The Treasure of Sierra Madre" - exciting Humphrey Bogart tale directed by John Huston from 1948 VHS (visit link) ).
"The Three Stooges - Curly Classics" - Five shorts highlighting "Curly" Howard from the 1930's and 1940's DVD. Note: Moe, Curly and later Shemp (who replaced Curly after his illness), were all brothers.
The cache also initially contained the Travel Bugs, "Joey" who left upper New York state many months ago, and "My Old Truck"
There is also a special handmade necklace given to me by a person from El Salvador during a recent visit there, a possible FTF prize.
Be sure to enjoy the view!
Congratulations to Lajoie5 for FTF!!
