Geocache Description:

Located along the Appomattox River Heritage Trail. A nice hike, good bird watching and fishing as well.

This cache is in a lock and lock, this was changed due to the changing nature of the area!

The cache is located near the community of Pocahontas, the oldest continually inhabited black community in the U.S. and historic Petersburg. Drive along the tracks and you will see the old railroad roundhouse (now a farmer's market), antique shops and historical markers telling the story of the area.
