Geocache Description:

This field is known as Elk Meadows or the Browns meadows.

Elk are a common sight here hence the name.
Look at the ground and you'll see evidence of thier visits.

The area was settled by the Brown family around 1895.

The best place to park is just down the road from the old orchard. When you park here stop and look around.
Just behind you on the hill once stood the Browns house, the barn was located just to the right of where the old road is next to the field.

In the middle of the field you'll see some tree's and depending on what time of year you are here a small pond, this area was where the old corral once was and it was sill used up until the early-mid 60's.
I can remember as a little kid coming here and seeing what was left of it into the late 70's.
Today not much remains of the area's history except what we remember.
