for my 200th cache placement i decided to return to the spenceville wildlife area. the cache is a 4x8 plastic cylinder placed near the top of a hill. park at the gate (N 39 11.093 W 121 18.271) and proceed NW for a quarter mile. and be careful, as there is poison oak in the area.
the woodchuck is a small, sturdy burrowing rodent, sometimes referred to as a ground hog. we do not have them in california, but we do however have a cacher in our area who is known as "the woodchuck." he has found over 2000 caches, and he has been very active and helpful in the NUTS caching group which meets in oroville. one quickly notices that the woodchuck is a fun-loving guy, as demonstrated by his shooting marshmallows at fellow cachers from the special pipe-gun that he built. (i understand that smith & wesson have offered him quite a sum for the patent.) what a delightful sense of humor the woodchuck has. i find it impossible to be around him for more than 30 seconds before i am smiling and laughing. as the old beer commercial said, woodchuck, this one's for you!
