Along the Battle River bank.
This geocache has a Western theme, because Ponoka is cowboy and cowgirl country. There is a great annual Stampede on the July 1st weekend, as well as regular horse and cow activities throughout the year in this town. The trail is completely paved, so it is an easy walk. There is only a little bit of bushwacking required.
The cache is a camouflaged peanut-butter container.
There is lots of fun treasure for the kids in this cache.
Please add only items related to the Western theme.
The new foot bridge makes it easy to get to this cache now.
May 8, 2014 Update. Could not find the film canister so replaced the cache with a PB camo container. Snow is gone, the water has receded, leaving lots of sand behind. Placed the cache a little higher in a tree, just in case the Battle river overflows its banks again. Good to go!
