Geocache Description:

Welcome to the little coastal hamlet of Kennet River, as you enter the town you may note that there seems to be some conjecture on whether it should be Kennet or Kennett River. Hence the name of the Cache.

For the record it is Kennet River – Both this town and Wye River, down the road were named after rivers in England. The Kennet (River), which is in Berkshire in England has one T, therefore this should too. It seems we can blame a poor spelling sign maker from the 60’s for all the confusion.

Anyway on to the Cache – You will need to park at the Carpark near the Shop, which is at S38.40.004 E143.51.682

From here you will be walking about a kilometre into the forest to get to the Cache along a well maintained track which runs alongside the river itself.

Whilst at Kennet River you should check out The Beach, which you can swim at, but be careful as those waves can get up.

If you are looking for koalas you can usually find them in either the Caravan Park or on Grey River Road, which runs behind the caravan park.

If you like slightly creepy abandoned houses there is one on the other side of the river at S38.39.964 E143.51.423.
