Imagine, if you will, two geocachers out to find a cache at
sunset. As they ascend through a cloud near the posted coordinates,
they come upon a small object in the middle of the trail. At first
the object seems familiar, but they soon realize this is no
ordinary globe.
They examine the globe. When they touch it, it suddenly opens. A
ramp drops down from the “door” and a line of very
small beings marches out. Soon the little beings form a pattern. It
is as if they are trying to tell the geocachers something. The
geocachers take a picture of the strange pattern they see:
This seems to delight the little beings. The geocachers continue
to snap pictures in amazement. The little beings continue to strike
poses, intent on communicating something. Some of the patterns look
like Japanese characters, some look like German words, and some
look like Esperanto. The pattern dance continues for quite some
time, and just before reboarding the tiny vessel, the little beings
form this pattern:
Another cloud passes over the geocachers and the tiny vessel
disappears. The geocachers find the cache they set out to find and
enjoy the sunset. On returning home the geocachers have no memory
of the vessel, or the small beings, but the pictures remain in
their camera. In addition, they discover the tiny vessel in one of
their backpacks. They view the pictures and inspect the vessel, and
they come to the realization that they have unwittingly been to the
fifth dimension; they have been to The Menehune
Zone.
Slowly but surely the geocachers connect the dots, make sense of
these patterns, understand the space between here and there. They
now know that these small beings in their tiny vessel have come
from the future to visit their relatives from the past. They choose
these members of the geocacher species to help them with their
family reunion. And help them they do.

As a token of their appreciation, before returning to the
future, the little beings left a small box near the reunion
location for the enjoyment of all geocachers. What the box holds is
a mystery. If you come across it, perhaps you, too, will enter the
fifth dimension, the area called The Menehune
Zone.
