Located in Harper Park, former site of the Harper Brickyard. Next in the Boy Scout Eagle Project Series highlighting the handiwork of exceptional young men and the work they orchestrated. Several previous caches have been muggled in this park; therefore you’re looking for a small plastic pint container. No bushwhacking required, so stay on the trail and please bring your own pen.
A lower trailhead with plenty of parking is located at N47°30.976 W122°31.062. As you head up the trail from here a hundred feet or so, you’ll pass a depression that Sean R. filled with mulch a couple years ago. The creek below and wetland requirements mandated organic material be used to fill the slide area. This is the same technology used in the construction of SR16 over peat bogs. The area is again in need of repair due to further slippage and decomposition.
A second young man installed several benches and signs identifying local plants, turning this into a nice nature trail used almost exclusively by locals. Although I was unable to determine his name, I believe his last name starts with a “T”. If anyone has better information, please provide.
An upper trailhead is located at N47°30.985 W122°31.468. However, there is barely room for one car nearby.
