This is the 11th in a continuing series of hides that I place in
Berkeley parks that don't have caches (and are eligible for
caches). I wanted to do some more hides; Berkeley has many parks
without caches... seemed like a good match. I am seeing a lot of
Berkeley's smaller parks, and noticing things that I might not have
seen otherwise; perhaps you hunters will appreciate this, too.
Grove Park is a good-sized (3 acres) multi-use park in South
Berkeley, just a couple of blocks from the Ashby BART station. It
still bears the former name of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, the
most major of the streets that it borders. On the southern side,
the Russell Street Bike Boulevard runs along this park, as well.
There are sports areas for baseball/softball, basketball, and
tennis, a play area, and a large clubhouse.
Berkeley parks are open from 6am to 10pm. Please represent
responsible Geocaching, and respect the rules of the park.
The cache itself is a camo-taped small lidware container, 4" x
3" x 2.5". Small trade items only. Please make sure to put the
lid back on securely! Thanx. You'll also want to be pretty
stealthy about retrieving and replacing this container; the
difficulty rating is mostly muggle-related.
You may find parking for some of this series to be somewhat
challenging. I encourage you to find out how
bikeable/walkable/transit-able (most of) Berkeley's parks can be.
(The ones that are hardest to transit/walk to have the easiest
parking; funny how that works out. %-} )
FTF: dgreno!
Congratulations!
