Uphill walk along a path under trees, takes you under the road, and over the railway. Scenic Views along the way
Johnny Matthew's walk is well known to the locals as the walk the postie took from Auchterarder, and the cache is along this route. There are hills to your left, and ponies in the field, and to your right is Kincardine Glen, and you can see the Viaduct amongst the trees. Kincardine glen is part of the estate, with a romantic glen, a modern mansion, and a ruined castle, on the E border of Blackford parish, Perthshire. The glen extends 2½ miles north-eastward to the vicinity of Auchterarder and is crossed by Ruthaven Water and by the Scottish Central section of the Caledonian railway where the six-arched viaduct rising nearly 100 feet crosses the stream. Free parking can be found at N56.17.558/003.41.914, or anywhere in Auchterarder. ********** Letterboxing. In the cache box you will find a Rubber Stamp and an Ink Pad - these are the signature for this cache. Please take an imprint of the stamp for yourself if you wish to collect them in your own personal notebook. Then leave an imprint of your own personal stamp in the cache log book (if you have one), or simply sign as a traditional log book. Stamp and Ink remains part of the cache but it might be an idea to carry your own Ink Pad in case the one provided should dry up. ********** NO SWAPS REQUIRED BYOP
