This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Hilts: Since it has been more than two weeks since I posted a note to this cache asking the owner to either make the necessary repairs to the cache or archive it, and I have seen no response, I am archiving this cache.

Geocache Description:

The 'Jerry Monkey' is a short hike, through some woods and by the water. Cache is an Ammo box with your typical swag.

'Jerry Monkey' was a cacher who hiked high and low- always searching for tranquility. Legend has it he has hiked Long Island from end to end and there are not many spots that he did not hike. From North Shore to South Shore, from East to West. From Empire State Building to Montauk Point... yes, 'Jerry Monkey'.

'Jerry Monkey' has a cache that got lost in the ocean and as luck would have it, he received a call from the offices at Jones Beach stating that his cache had been found. It could have been a note in a bottle found by some far away recipient.

Legend also has it that if you sit by a shore line at sunset, you will still see 'Jerry Monkey' hiking by searching for yet another cache. Be Aware that the cache is being protected by the skull of some dead animal that I found along the bank. :-)

This is a series of caches based on Long Island GeoCaching Folk Lore- Just wait until I get to Squealy!

There is a Garmin Etrex cable in the cache, it is an extra I have, if you have an Etrex and need one, please take it.
