If you haven't been to Bremerton lately then you haven't been to Bremerton. Besides fishing, there is so much new to see and do in addition to finding this well placed cache.
There are many new shops and restaurants along the revitalized waterfront with more to come. We even have a Starbucks, but then again, who doesn't?
Of course, a tour of the USS Turner Joy is a must! While nothing is mentioned of it being fired upon in the Gulf of Tonkin, I am told this is the ship that launched the US into the Vietnam war.
In case you did know, Bremerton is also home to the USS Stennis, a Nimitz class aircraft carrier. Ernie the Traveler (TB) recently had his own personal tour of it (see his picture gallery). Unfortunately, you won't be so lucky since it's off limits to all but authorized personal and VIP's like Ernie.
Finally, the Bremerton waterfront plays host every year for the Blackberry Festival held on Labor Day weekend (excluding Monday). And if you have never tasted wild Northwest blackberries, you are in for a real treat.
So come find this cache, log your visit, and count yourselves amoung those elite who can say, "Hey, I've been to Bremerton."
