This Year: It's All About The
Sixes!!
We have a fascination with unusual dates. We were supposed to
get married on 02-02-02, but with the events of 09-11-01 (and being
a military family) we had to speed things up a bit and were not
able to take the plunge on that special date.
Last year was the beginning of a 7 year,
7month, 7 day, 7 hour, 7 minute, and 7 second mission. We decided
to hold an event called
05-05-05 @ 05:05:05
to determine which cachers were so
crazed and hungry for geocaching that they would come and
join us that early in the morning. 05-05-05 @ 05:05:05 was
more than we could have imagined! We had almost 50 fellow
cachers attend! We knew that the event had to live
on!
We are inviting all of you to join us for a geocacher greet,
meet, and eat! And, if it's all about the sixes this year, then it
has to take place at 06:06:06 in the morning!! This event will
really separate the die-hards from the wimps, the sane from the
crazies, the normal from the obsessed!! We have even given it "6"
Stars (5 for difficulty and 1 for terrain) for those who have a
hard time getting up that early! Come on, don't be shy, this will
be a great before-work cache or for those adventurous types, try
these for an after event cache-a-thon!!
Just like last year, we are still on the
lookout for creative cache containers and creative hide ideas. Last
year we had numerous inventive and imaginative containers at our
event and we are eager to see what this year will bring! In that
vein, a contest ensues...
- Most Creative Geocache Container.
Put your noggin to work and get creative. Bring your coolest
geocache container. The only rule is this has to be a useable
geocache container, and we should all expect to see it placed soon
after the event! The winner will be decided by YOUR VOTES shortly
after 06:06:06.
To claim this cache you will need to make
your way to the above coordinates by 06:00 (that's bright and early
in the morning!) on 06-06-06. This will ensure that we can all be
together to celebrate 06:06:06 and sign the logbook. We hope you
will stay for breakfast!
“Bug Exchanges” are always welcome. If you are bringing travel
bugs to trade, please have their Bug Page printed and included, so
their goal will not be a mystery.
In keeping with the new trend in the
geocaching world, a short GAA (Geocoin Addicts Anonymous) meeting
will be held at some point, ha ha. (At Korey’s request, if we can
get an “intervention” going for Tim to show him that geocoins are
an addiction that can be overcome, that would be great!)
If you plan on attending, please include in your posting how
many will be in your group so we can let the restaurant know how
many crazy cachers to expect. Be sure to watch this page for
updates, changes, and/or announcements.

$TBD
2) Grand Slam Breakfast (comes with eggs, bacon, and sausage) for
