March 1864 ten days after the Confederate Victory at Olustee, Union and Confederate forces met along this road in a running skirmish. The fight started 2 to 3 miles west of here, 10am. When union forces advanced out of camp Mooney(Ellis Rd.)to locate and test Confederate strength in their front....To be continued at the cache site.
A micro located at a cool spot with some history. Spotted the monument/sign and stopped by to to read it. Thought this was a nice place for a cache. Should be a easy grab and go. The power lines may interfere with your gps signal. The area does need some CITO action. Enjoy, Let's Go Geocaching!
