“MICHIGAN SPIRIT
QUEST”
The MICHIGAN SPIRIT QUEST series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by MICHIGAN Pioneers. This series is inspired by and a
continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by
SixDogTeam. In just over a year and a half, the SPIRIT QUEST has
grown to over three hundred thirty caches and the hiders have grown
to seventeen cacher teams, most of which are comprised of Dogs
and their Humans. Over 700 cachers have
logged over 8,000 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ caches in
a single day (daylight hours only).

"Windfall
Cache"
Welcome to Windfall
Cemetery, Tekonsha Township, Calhoun County, the final resting
place of many of Tekonsha’s pioneers. There are many Civil War
veterans buried here, along with three from the War of 1812 and one
from the Mexican War. The Mexican War veteran, William Logan, died
while returning home. The War of 1812 veterans are Jess Annis,
Parley Dean and Alonson B. Howard. Of these, Alonson Howard went on
to be a noted physician of the chronically ill. He attended the
Cleveland Medical College and the University of Michigan.
Graduating from neither, he simply went home and opened his
practice. He relied on many natural remedies, learned from local
Native Americans, along with his formal education. His office stood
directly across the road from this cemetery, until it was moved to
Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. For more information you

located near a grave... If you find a fallen US flag, please
