Let’s clean up our playing fields! Cache In Trash Out is an
activity intimately tied to geocaching. While out there on a cache
hunt, we collect litter along the trails and properly dispose of
it. On certain days, we also participate in much larger clean-up
events that involve and benefit the larger community.
Groundspeak
is again sponsoring International Cache In Trash Out Day. This
year it will be on April 22, 2006. Together, we can
make an enormous positive impact with just a little joint
effort.
Cache In Trash Out Day is an opportunity for geocachers to help
clean up the parks and other cache-friendly places throughout the
world. Through our volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural
beauty of our outdoor resources.
This is a chance for Virginia Geocachers to celebrate Cache In
Trash Out Day. With the approval of the State Parks system, we will
meet at Pocahontas State Park in Shelter #3 at 9:00 AM. Here is
a map
of the park. Shelter #3 is above the parking lot in the inset.
Groups will separate to help clean several areas of the park. We
will meet back at the shelter at Noon for lunch. If you would like
to bring something to share, post it in a note and I'll keep tabs
of it here on the cache page.
Thanks for nothing to for promising to supply
trash bags but NOT doing
it!
