This cache is sort of midway between SA09 entrance at Barlow road
and where Barlow meets up with Woods Road. The cache is a film
canister. The terrain rating is because no matter how you get
there, it is uphill to get back. 3-19-2006 -
Cache was replaced with a traditional sized plastic jar
I was out for a jaunt to start at
SA09 and heading to
Above the Valley and maybe onto a couple caches further on the
trail. I turned back at Above The Valley and headed back. Close to
halfway between the two places is a turning point in the trail. It
is up hill both directions from here. I paused for a moment and
just had to leave a cache. I did not have much on me as this was
not planned at all. I had a film cannister but the log was missing.
Ziplock was there, just not log. I improvised with a strip of
paper. I seeded the cache with a new DNF pin and a smokey the
bandit pin. I averaged 100 times and had a 15.5 foot accuracy. The
cache is on the rock wall about knee high. A twig sticking up marks
its location. Next time I come out, I will upgrade the cache to
something bigger. But for now, it is what I had on me.
3-19-2006 - The cache is in a new
location!!
Look for the tree that looks like the number 4. Then look for the
rock that looks like a big open mouth laughing at you. There is no
moss inside the "mouth" of the rock. The cache is there. new
coordinates were average 200 times and has an accuracy of 22 feet.
When you are close to the cache, you can see it easily!
