The best access for this cache is to take Littlefield Road off of Highway 168 in the Shaver Lake area.
The cache is labled with a Geocaching decal in an olive drab ammo can. The cache was placed on our very first trip to the Sierra Nevada's. I proposed while on this trip! My fiance's sister and family have a "cabin" in the Shaver Lake area that they call "The Moose". I wanted to hide a cache while on this trip but had no idea where. As soon as we arrived at "The Moose" my future sister in law and her family took us to this place that they call "Moose Rock". I wasn't planning on hiding a cache unitl I had scouted out different locations during our stay. As it turned out my favorite spot for the cache was "Moose Rock". I had found a tentative cache location on our first trek up the rock and marked it with a waypoint. I went back four days later with my fiance's brother in law to place the cache. The snow was up to our knees which made for a hard climb. I'm glad he had the insight to bring a snow shovel. I used the saved waypoint to find the spot and he used the shovel to help uncover it. I couldn't find enough "moose" items to fill the cache so it contains some "rocks" from a local General Store. Please try to add "moose" items or something from the local area to this cache. The rocks are in two separate designer bags so only take one rock, not the whole bag. Please add your pictures to the gallery so we can enjoy the view all year long.
