I'am sorry for the large amount of supporters, who kept me from archiving the series for a long time, but this is enough.
It has been fun to do this series, but it is time to move on.

This cache represents one in a series along the Vennbahn.

From 1885 until 2003, "Die Vennbahn" served as an ever changing military,
civil or touristical/historical railway. The most recent use has been as
a touristical line with historical locomotives. At the end of 2003, the
line has been closed down, due to a political decision, not to provide the
money for necessary maintenance. This still hurts ...

A strange situation: As a result of the Treaty of Versailles, the part from
Raeren to Kalterherberg was defined as belgium territory, although it runs
nearly completely through Germany.

Apart from an "In Memoriam" for the Vennbahn, we placed this series because
of the beautiful landscape this line is running through.

We hope you will enjoy the hard work.

Please collect the hints which you will find in every cache.
They will be needed to solve the Vennbahn Bonus caches.

Dieser Cache ist Bestandteil einer Serie entlang der Vennbahn.

Von 1885 bis 2003 diente "Die Vennbahn" regelmäßig wechselnd als Militär, Zivil
oder Touristisch/Historische Eisenbahn. Die letzde Zeit wurde sie als
eine touristische Liene mit historischen Lokomotiven genutzt. Ende 2003 ist die Vennbahn
aufgrund einer politischen Entscheidung geschlossen worden weil das
Geld für notwendige Wartung nicht bewilligt wurde. Das schmerzt immer noch ...

Eine seltsame Situation: In Folge des Vertrags von Versailles, wurde der Teil von
Raeren nach Kalterherberg als Belgisches Hoheitsgebiet definiert, obwohl es fast vollständig
durch Deutschland verläuft.

Nicht nur als ein "In Memoriam" an die Vennbahn stellen wir diese Serie ein sondern auch weil sie
durch eine besonders schönen Landschaft verläuft.

Wir hoffen, dass euch die schwere Arbeit gefällt.

Bitte sammelt die Hinweise, die sich in jedem Cache finden.
Sie werden gebraucht, um die Vennbahn Bonuscaches zu lösen.

De 1885 à 2003, "Die Vennbahn" était utilisée alternativement de voie
ferroviaire militaire, civile, touristique ou historique.
L'utilisation la plus récente était une ligne touristique servie par des
locomotives historiques.

Fin 2003, à la suite d'une décision politique, la ligne a été fermée pour
des raisons budgétaires afin de ne plus en assurer l'entretien.
C'est déplorable.

Une étrange situation : en raison du Traité de Versailles, la partie de
Raeren à Kalterherberg a été définie comme territoire belge, bien qu'elle
fonctionne presque complètement en Allemagne.
Indépendamment du "In Memoriam" pour le Vennbahn, nous avons placé cette
série de caches en raison de la beauté des paysages traversés.

Van 1855 tot 2003, diende "Die Vennbahn" als een regelmatig veranderende militaire,
civiele of touristisch/historische spoorweg. Het meest recente gebruik was als
touristische lijn met historisch materieel. Aan het eind van 2003 werd deze lijn
opgeheven, naar aanleiding van een politiek besluit geen geld meer voor noodzakelijk
onderhoud ter beschikking te stellen. Dit doet nog steeds pijn ...

Een vreemde situatie: Als gevolg van het verdrag van Versailles werd het gedeelte
tussen Raeren en Kalterherberg als belgisch territorium gedefinieerd. Dit ondanks het
feit dat het spoor vrijwel volledig door Duitsland loopt.

Naast een "In Memoriam" voor de Vennbahn, hebben wij deze serie geplaatst vanwege het
bijzonder mooie natuurlandschap waar deze lijn doorloopt.
