This microcache is located in Patricia Allyn Park in Clearcreek Township. BYOP! (BTW: Park gates are closed at sunset)
Oddly (but happily) enough, this park does not see heavy use except during a few weeks in the Spring and Fall, when it is overrun by soccer teams. It's very popular with neighbors, who consider it "their" park.
The front acreage of Patricia Allyn Park is a stretch of green lawn used by the soccer players. In the back is a wedge of woods with two trails, the "inner" and the "outer" that were created by boy scouts. Mrs. Allyn donated this property with plans that soccer fields, and later facilities for basketball and tennis would be developed. If you look east and south past the fence line, you will see acres of thick woods, undulating terrain and creeks. This property is held in trust by the Hoffman Family and will someday be part of the park. However, at this time it is still private property so please don't cross the fence line! We are all grateful to Mrs. Allyn and the Hoffmans and their generosity, which will preserve this beautiful patch of land from the developers who have already ravaged so much of Clearcreek Township.
