Alnwick Spy Hunt - 5: A Twist in the Tail Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rugby Raptors: Unfortunately, all of the Spy Series caches have gone missing at the same time. Apart from the need to replace the specialist container of cache 5, this indicates that someone knows where they all are and that would make replacing them a bit pointless. Regretfully, I have therefore decided to archive the series. Thanks to all those of you who worked your way through them and enjoyed the series highly enough to make it one of Britain’s top 25 caches.

Geocache Description:

Set in the Alnwick area, the location of this cache can only be found, and the hunt successfully concluded, by finding caches 1-4 and noting various clues etc found within them. The difficulty rating relates to having had to complete all the previous caches in order to find this one. The location given is not the cache but another possiblity for parking (Pay & Display unfortunately) in the town.

Agent O’Cache has been tracking down a spy working in the Alnwick area. Unfortunately he disappeared before he could reveal the spy’s identity and whereabouts. The only clues are a series of puzzles and codes – you must solve them and reveal the identity and location of the spy.

You can do caches 1 and 2 in any order. However, you must have obtained the clues from these caches before you will be able to attempt cache 3. You must find caches 3 and 4 to complete the series. Have you got what it takes to succeed and unmask the spy?

To find the final cache you need to determine Agent O’Cache’s Christian name. This name has appeared, either in the description, solution or clues, in each of caches 1-4.

Take the location given for this name in cache 1. Add or subtract the offset for the same name from cache 2. Add or subtract the offset from cache 4 to give the location for the final cache. You will need the answer to the clue given inside cache 3 before you can successfully unmask the spy. To claim the cache, your report must be accurate (see details in the cache) – any incomplete logs will be deleted. Good luck!

The initial contents of the cache reflect the difficulty and theme of the series please try and continue the theme. Hope you enjoy them.
