With this project, man had a different best friend. It’s kinda neat
the City preserved this area; hope you enjoy this bit of San Diego
history.
There are two intermediate waypoints with the final coords inside
Chollas Park. If you walk from waypoint one, it’ll be about .7
miles each way; or you can park at N32 44.400 W117 03.625 and make
it .4 miles each way; or drive into the Park and make it .3 miles
each way.
At the published coords; get the following info:
Z=Number of the tower on which this structure sat.
Y=Sum of the names of the adjacent towers.
X=Towers were visible from over how many miles?
Second waypoint is at: N32 44.(8Y-X+1) W117 03.(10X+6Y-Z).
At the second waypoint, “W” equals the numerical value (a=1, b=2,
etc…) of the first letter of the last word in quotations.
The cache is at N32 44.(6X+3W-1) W117 03.(1000-Y-X)
To avoid the chollas (the funny looking cacti), approach ground
zero from the east along the fenceline as much as possible. The
loot will be within three feet of the fence.
The intermediate waypoints are available 24/7; the cache only from
dawn to dusk.
Note: side gate is closed due to construction till around Spring
2010. Use the main gate to enter the park.
