Update this cache has bin re-hidden due to the tree rotting it was only moved 30 feet from the original spot. Good luck and enjoy the park. Located in historic Newlin Grist Mill Park
150 acre park with a lot to do. Dedicated to historical preservation and environmental appreciation, the park is the location of a still-working grist mill which dates back to 1704 on land which was originally granted to the Newlin family by William Penn in 1683. There are also two 18th century family homes on the park land, a spring house, barn, blacksmith shop, and log cabin. In addition to the historic complex, the park is comprised of nature walks, trout fishing ponds and streams, picnic areas, and baseball diamonds. Trails wind through three miles of trees to the original dam constructed by Nathaniel Newlin to redirect water to the mill. Note: there is a two-day fall festival the first weekend in October when access to the park could be tough due to parking limitations and the volume of visitors that weekend. Also, after finding the cache, visit the park office for a map and visit the mill on the other side of the road (park actually lies on either side of the street).
Cache is a 30 cal. ammo box with Geocaching sticker on the outside. Contains miscellaneous doo-dads: word-search book, air freshener, pocket flashlight, key-chain, band-aids, wet ones, hacky-sac, some toys and rubber bracelets... etc. Feel free to take something, but please leave something in return. There is also a little horsey travel bug who wants to get to the Grand Canyon. Please sign the log book!
