Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.
If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Replacement cache for GCBE9D. Best approached from the 4 peaks parking area. Nice view from this hilltop, roads should get you within a 100' or so.
Found this area while out doing caches in the area. Got to this hilltop for a rest and was thinking what a nice view, it would be a great place for a cache. As I got off the quad, I noticed a plastic container with a notepad in it and thought that looks like a cache. After I picked it up, I realized it was the cache "On a clear day you can ...". Not having this cache in my GPS, I didn't know exactly where to place it since the area I found it was not suitable. I placed the container down the hill and recorded the coords. At home I did a little research and found the original owner and also found out that the cache was archived. Since the original owner was unable to maintain the cache, GC.com suggested I place a new cache in the area so that is what I did. For anyone that got the previous cache, you know what a beautiful view is in store at this cache. I brought the original log home to transcribe the names from the previous cache and will place this in the cache when done. As there is a long sandy wash to get to the cache, may I suggest quads, motorcycles or four wheel drive. Previous cachers have mentioned using 2 wheel drive but if you do, travel with 2 or more vehicles. Good Luck and enjoy the view!
