Geocache Description:

My first hide, I plan to hide others soon with the common theme of strange and unusual places. I’m a haunted/wierd/urban legend enthusiast and thought it would be fun to highlight some of the lesser known mysterious places of NC with geocache hides.

Terrain is still pretty easy despite the recent logging project, just watch your steps on the many limbs you might need to cross, and hide is not terribly difficult.

This first one is in the Goshen swamp region, as the local farmers would say “there are things living in that swamp that man has never seen before” not to worry though, I’m not exactly leading you into the swamp.

Cache is now a camouflaged ammo can.

If you we’re to continue past this cache about 1/4 mile you would come to the wooden bridge, strange lights have been seen here. Probably just ignis fatuus but - who knows?

Also, as you walk you might see some interesting "tracks" in the mud. and see and hear some interesting things "on down the line."

The safest access point is to park on SE Center and walk under.

I live within 3 miles of here and have never experienced anything supernatural in my many trips to this location.

Bring bug spray (summer) and be aware, though it’s really, really rare, I have seen an occasional snake in this area.

Enjoy the search.
