Geocache Description:

Welcome to Indian Mounds Park. I discovered this park about 15 years ago while attending school at UW-Whitewater. It recently undergoing some improvements, but please take some time to see everything!

Please watch your step as you will be off trail while hunting the cache. The terrain my be easier or harder depending on the time of year. People are in the process of cleaning up the park, but there are a number of branches on the ground in this part of the park. Grasses may be tall, and thorns may be encountered. You might get some wet feet too (it was raining when I placed this one). But the actual terrain is quite level. Tree cover may be an issue at times as well.

The mounds in this area are estimated to be approximately 2,000 years old. Fifteen mounds have been discovered, as well as another possible mound or intaglio. Each spot has a nice information sign by it. It's just a great place to visit.

When I first discovered this park, civilization was not intruding like it is now. I used to come here and use it for inspiration in my writing. It has changed a lot over the years. Now it's actually starting to look like a historical park just tucked into a neighborhood.

My really cool experimental container was just too tasty looking for the local creatures, so it has been replaced by a Lock N Lock in the same location. Please keep the container hidden with local materials.
