Geocache Description:

Small cache with coins from other places around the world, it would be great if cachers can add to the collection.

This cache is along rutherford creek, and the creek dumps into the Stewiacke river. this creek has some of the best evening fishing in the area. Both good sized brook trout and monster brown trout have been caught and released in this pool. I places a half dozen or so forign coins, the log book and a shorty pencil. the cache is a small lock and lock container.

There is a good parking spot across the bridge and then its a short walk down the old road to the cache, you can drive down if you have a truck or don't like your car but its a pretty short walk and you have a better chance of seeing the local critters.

In the 80's this creek was a major spawing area for atlantic salmon but with the demise of the salmon stocks in the river its all trout now. There are lots of wildlife in the area too, its possible to see bald eagles, white tail deer, muskrats, beavers, wood ducks, hooded mergansers, partridge, peasants, rabbits and the occasional cow across the creek.

Im not sure if this creek is under the fly fishing only rules that are on the Stewiacke but I find it more fun to fish the area with stonefly nymphs or parachute dry flies.
