Cache is an ammo box located within the X-Country Ski Trails between Dynamite Hill and Landon Hill Road in Chestertown, NY.
The cache is not at the listed coordinates, but you will need them. The first set of coordinates, N 43°39.928 and W073°48.140 will take you to the beginning of the Caroline Fish Memorial Trail System on Landon Hill Road, just north of Chestertown, NY. The second set of coordinates, N 43°39.569 and W073°47.838, will take you to the top of Dynamite Hill, Chestertown’s local ski hill. The two areas are connected by a system of X-country ski trails that are accessible year round from either location. The cache is hidden somewhere within the boundaries of these trails. These trails, the ski lift, and many of the buildings in this area were the result of a community service project of the Rotary Club of Chestertown.
In order to find the location, you will need to triangulate. The two points represent two of the vertices of a triangle and the distance between them is one of the sides of the triangle. Leaving the Dynamite Hill coordinates you would have to head on a bearing of 307° true north to reach the cache. From the Caroline Fish Memorial Trail waypoint, you would have to head on a bearing of 167° true north to reach the cache. Where these two lines intersect is where the cache is located, which is also the third vertex of the triangle.
