Geocache Description:

This is a two-legged multi-cache. Solve an easy puzzle at the first site and earn the coordinates for the cache. There is a paved path within a couple hundred feet of the cache and the terrain is not too difficult. Bug spray would be a good idea in the summer. A great place to visit on the 4th of July!

At the coordinates, you will find a plaque with some local history. For the North coordinates of the cache, use the second date mentioned. Multiply the month and day from this date and subtract the answer from the above coordinates. Still using the second date, add the month and day together and subtract this total for your West coordinates. Once at the new coordinates, take 10 paces to the southwest.

It is not far, but still a challenge. The cache is an ammo box containing typical goodies, a logbook and a disposable camera to record your visit. After taking your picture, be sure to leave the camera and once full, we will place the photos on the website! There may be some muggles around, so be aware.

If you would like to walk or bike to the coordinates above, a nice paved walking/biking trail begins at N 40 55.610 and W 097 04.956. The trail will lead you right to the main coordinates, but it will be about a 4 1/2 mile round trip.

To see the reason why this is the 4th of July city, visit:
N 40 54.454 & W 097 05.895.
The local and historic University is located at:
N 40 54.868 & W 097 05.472.
